Walnut Tree Homeopathic Practice
The Project
The website for Walnut Tree Homeopathic Practice was outdated and in need of an revamp. I updated the look and feel to reflect the natural, family-friendly ethos of the company and created a responsive mobile-friendly site to replace the old fixed-width version.
The Design Process
Colour pallette
The natural palette for the Walnut Tree brand was inspired by plants that are used for homeopathic remedies. The rich array of greens from the leaves influenced the primary colours, especially the sage green of Salvia and Thuja. The deep yellows of Arnica and Chamomilla plants provided the accent golds and magnolia, the rich cream.
TYPOGRAPHY
Monserrat Alternates is a modern rounded sans-serif font with some distinctive letterforms. The curved uppercase ‘A’, ‘W’ ‘M’ and ‘E’ give it a friendly approachable feel which was the perfect fit for the brand. This was teamed with Merriweather Sans in all capitals for subheadings.
BRAND PERSONALITY
The look and feel of the interface was designed to reflect the brand keywords: ‘natural’, ‘trustworthy’, ‘wellbeing’, ‘caring’, ‘family-friendly’.
RESPONSIVE UI
One of the key requirements for this project was a responsive website. I replaced the fixed width site with fluid content that adjusts to various screen sizes.
HOME PAGE DESIGN
Many homeopath’s site home pages focussed on the homeopath’s credentials and on homeopathy itself. For a more user-focussed approach:
- I designed the uppermost section of the homepage to focus on the user and their issues/pain points and how homeopathy could potentially help.
- This was followed by an intro to my client along with a photo, patient testimonials and lastly a call to action.
The Result
Perm quickly understood my requirements and turned these into a professional design with clear content navigation and a style that reflects my practice.
I am pleased to say the site has successfully generated new business where clients have found the information they required with ease and have selected my practice over others due to the professional presentation Perm has provided.
